Each Temperature Satellite can support up to 100 sensors. The supplied PC can support up to 10 Temperature Satellites. The Server System can support up to 10 reporting PCs and up to 100 clients receiving web page data.

The Temperature Satellite System can consist of many Temperature Satellites connected to a single PC. Mutiple PCs can be connected to the Server System to concentrate data from all locations and provide access to all temperature histories at your facility to any browser enabled work station on your network.

In-Touch Temperature Satellite ( TS ) Systems

In-Touch TS is a simple and cost effective system that continuously monitors the temperature in all refrigerators, coolers, freezers, and environmental control systems.

In-Touch TS provides you with the ultimate in thermal accountabiliy providing you with automated display of temperatures in all monitored zones, alarm outputs on zones outside of agreed upon safe temperature limits, and our unigue iButton key acknowledgement sytem that will record who and when authorized personell acknowledged alarms. In-Touch can even provide you with space in the record keeping system to record your response to alarm conditions as required by HACCP.

In-Touch TS will alert you to problems before they become disasters.

In-Touch TS connects to a P.C. allowing stored data to be downloaded, analyzed and printed out. This PC can be connected to the In-Touch Server system to allow access to the data across your Intranet or even the Internet.

In-Touch TS monitoring and data logging will do so much more than just alert you to pending emergencies. Data logging allows; documentation, trouble shooting, trend analysis and system fine tuning.

SAFETY

Using an In-Touch TS monitoring and notification system gives you accurate and continuos monitoring of all your thermally sensative areas.

DOCUMENTATION

By downloading and archiving sensor temperature histories you have a permanent record of the temperature status of individual areas. This not only helps you manage the system but provides you with documentation of operational efficiency.

HACCP (Hazard Analysis of Critical Contact Points)

A Federal program, HACCP (hazard analysis of critical control points) is being incorporated into many of the nation's food safety programs. HACCP principles specifically require monitoring and recording of temperatures at many critical control points throughout the food distribution system. Meat packing and processing plants as well as grocery stores are being required to implement HACCP programs. These facilities are required to monitor and record critical contact point temperatures within their facility.
The In-Touch Remote Temperature Satellite (TS ) family of products are designed to automatically monitor, alarm, and record temperatures from multiple locations within a facility. There are many benefits to using this system including: loss prevention, automated record keeping, increased level of accountability, increased maintenance awareness, and employee time savings.

In-Touch Remote Temperature Satellite ( TS ) system overview

Over the past few years we have all become increasingly aware of the importance of quality control. From health care to food safety, temperature is the most important and most watched variable. Many Federal and State laws as well as business operating codes require close attention to, and detailed documentation of, temperature histories. Because the effort required to have people monitor the temperature at even a few locations is so labor intensive this process must be automated.

The Remote In-Touch Temperature Satellite (TS ) family of products were designed to automatically monitor, log and alarm temperature readings from multiple locations. In-Touch has developed hardware and software solutions to make this process easy and fault tolerant. The hardware and software are built on five layers. There is a great deal of intelligence built into each layer of the system. Following is a brief description of each layer.

Digital Sensors

In-Touch uses new technology digital sensors that greatly reduce installation cost and complexity. Up to 100 sensors can be wired to an In-Touch Satellite on a single cable (multidrop). Multiple In-Touch Satellites can be wired to the PC to provide monitoring for literally hundreds of sensors simultaneously. Each sensor is manufactured with its own unique identification serial code. This assures you that your sensors will be properly identified and never confused with any other sensor on your system now or in the future. You can even accumulate the data from many different facilities and rest assured that the sensor id system will not contain duplicates. Each sensor is a self addressed node on the Microlan network. In addition, the temperature conversion is done on the sensor itself (rather than sending an analog value to the main board for processing ) eliminating line conditioners, cold junction compensators and other complex hardware required by other systems to send an accurate temperature reading to a P.C. Traditional electronic temperature sensing systems use thermocouples, thermistors, and RTD sensors that require 2 or 3 conductors extended to each sensor! This drastically drives up hardware and installation cost and complexity. A global command is sent to all sensors to convert (read their own temperature) simultaneously thus giving you a true time synchronized snapshot of thermal conditions of temperatures from all sensors.

The *Microlan Network

The backbone of the TS system is the Microlan network. By using Microlan the In-Touch TS system allows you to monitor up to 100 unique sensors on a single cable. You can multidrop sensors off this cable and hardwire each sensor to its permanent location or you may want to wire plug in jacks that allow you to unplug the sensors to move equipment around for repair and or replacement.

The Temperature Satellite (DSat5)

The DSat5 Temperature Satellite collects the temperature readings from the temperature sensors and acts as a bridge to the PC and beyond. All of the setup information is stored on the Sat5 as well as keeping temperature and alarm logs. The Sat5 will continue to operate whether or not the PC is on. Each Sat5 can store up to 1000 temperature readings for each temperature sensor connected to it .Up to 10 Sat5 Satellites can be connected to the PC. The Sat5 has a small LCD screen to allow you to look at the current temperature readings of any sensor connected to it as well as a touch key port to allow you to acknowledge any pending alarms on the system. The personal touch key can be used to identify which authorized personnel has acknowledged any given alarm.

The PC and Program

By connecting multiple In-Touch Satellites to the P.C. you can easily program, view, and download temperature data from hundreds of temperature sensors located throughout your facility. While P.C.'s are extremely powerful data collection tools they have a downside in that their reliability is inversely proportional to the importance of the function they perform. Translation ( Just when you need the P.C. the most it crashes ). In-Touch has designed the TS system to operate independently of the P.C. Once the initial parameters are programmed they are stored in nonvolatile memory on the TS system. Subsequently if you have a problem with the P.C. the TS system continues to function. Information stored on the system ( setup, set points, sensor names, display order, logging intervals, alarm delays, temperature logs, alarm logs, etc.) can be used to update the database on the P.C.

The Server System

Many system administrators would like the temperature data and reporting capabilities to be available to other users while maintaining sole control of the system. The In-Touch server system addresses this need. By connecting one or more PCs that have Sat5(s) on them to the Server System you can concentrate the data and make it accessable to your Intranet or even the Internet. In-Touch has developed a system that dynamically generates web pages that are automatically updated from the Sat5 Satellites. This way the data can be accessed from any browser enabled station that has access to the network. By using the Server System you also get another level of automatic data backup as temperature logs will reside on each Sat5, the PC and the server. The Server System also adds the ability to add (authorized) comments to your alarm events, remote data access and report generation without having to use proprietary software on every machine.

In conclusion the In-Touch TS system offers you these benefits:

1- Stand alone operation
2- Built in configuration and data logging backup
3- Automated temperature monitoring, alarming and data logging at as many locations as you need.
4- The ability to view current temperatures and temperature histories from any browser enabled PC.
